Cards for Caring: Spreading Love to Kids in Need, One Card at a Time

At the Armer Foundation for Kids, we believe in the power of small gestures to make a big difference.
That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our newest initiative, Cards for Caring, a heartfelt program designed to bring smiles and encouragement to children battling serious medical conditions at Banner and Phoenix Children’s hospitals. With your help, we can fill hospital rooms with messages of hope, one handmade card at a time.
What is Cards for Caring?
Cards for Caring invites our incredible Phoenix community—families, schools, businesses, and volunteers—to create and donate handmade cards for kids in need. These cards, filled with uplifting messages and colorful designs, are delivered directly to young patients, offering a moment of joy during challenging times. Whether it’s a “You’re so brave!” note for a toddler or a “Keep shining!” message for a teen, every card reminds these children that they’re not alone.
This program builds on the success of our Armer Cares initiative, which provides comfort items like toys, blankets, and toiletries to hospitalized kids. Cards for Caring adds an emotional touch, ensuring every child feels loved and supported, aligning perfectly with our mission to ease the financial and emotional burdens of families facing extreme medical conditions.
Why Cards Matter
A simple card can be a lifeline for a child in the hospital. It’s a reminder that someone out there cares, that their courage is seen, and that they’re part of a community rooting for them. Our partners at Banner and Phoenix Children’s hospitals, where we’ve delivered thousands of comfort items through Armer Cares, tell us that these small acts of kindness lift spirits and create lasting memories for kids and their families.

“When my daughter saw the bright card with a handwritten note, her face lit up for the first time in days. It was a small thing, but it meant the world to her—and to me.”
Our goal? Deliver 100+ cards each month to young patients, ensuring every child feels the warmth of our community’s support.
How You Can Get Involved
Cards for Caring is all about community, and we need YOU to make it a success! Here’s how you can join the movement:
- Create Handmade Cards
Grab some cardstock, crayons, stickers, or markers and let your creativity shine! Write a short, uplifting message (e.g., “You’re a superstar!” or “Wishing you strength and smiles!”). Keep it non-religious and appropriate for kids from newborns to teens. - Host a Card-Making Party
Gather your school, scout troop, or coworkers for a fun card-making event. We’ll provide guidelines and can even connect you with supplies through our Armer Cares Amazon Wishlist. It’s a great way to bond while making a difference! - Drop Off Your Cards
Bring your cards to our office at 9830 S 51st St, Ste A128, Phoenix, AZ 85044. Be sure to note “Armer Cares” on your donation so we can track it for Cards for Caring. - Sponsor Card-Making Kits
Become a monthly donor and sponsor card-making kits for local schools and volunteers. Just $25 helps us create 50 cards, bringing joy to kids across Phoenix. Donate now and select “Cards for Caring”! - Spread the Word
Share your card-making journey on social media with #ArmerCaresCards. Tag us @ArmerFoundation to inspire others and show the kids how much love is coming their way.
How It Works
Once your cards reach us, our team works with Child Life Coordinators at Banner and Phoenix Children’s hospitals to hand-deliver them to patients.
