Casteel Colts Baseball Team Hosts Car Wash Fundraiser for Armer Foundation on May 3rd

The Casteel High School Baseball team, proudly known as the Colts, is thrilled to announce a community car wash fundraiser on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Skippy’s Grill & Cantina in Queen Creek, Arizona. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM MST, with all proceeds directly supporting the Armer Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to uplifting families facing medical and financial hardships in our community.

The Armer Foundation’s mission hits close to home for many in Queen Creek. Their iconic logo—a heart-shaped handshake—embodies unity, compassion, and support, values that mirror the Colts’ commitment to teamwork and giving back. Through this car wash, the team aims to raise funds and awareness for the foundation’s impactful work, which includes providing financial assistance, emotional support, and resources to families in crisis. The foundation has been a beacon of hope for many, and the Colts are honored to contribute to their efforts.

Head Coach Matt Denny, who has guided the Colts to consecutive 5A state championships in 2023 and 2024, shared his excitement about the event: “Our players are more than just athletes—they’re role models in our community. Supporting the Armer Foundation aligns perfectly with our team motto, ‘Pound the Rock,’ which is all about staying humble, working hard, and making a positive impact.”  Coach Denny’s leadership has fostered a culture of selflessness within the team, and this fundraiser is a testament to their dedication to serving others.

The car wash will be a lively, family-friendly event, perfect for a Saturday morning outing. For a suggested donation of $10 per vehicle, the Casteel players will roll up their sleeves and give your car a thorough cleaning with the same energy and teamwork they bring to the field. Skippy’s Grill & Cantina, located at 23858 S Power Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142, has graciously provided their spacious parking lot for the event. As a bonus, Skippy’s will be open for business, offering their delicious menu of burgers, tacos, and refreshing drinks—so you can enjoy a meal while your car gets a shine. The team will also have a donation jar on-site for anyone who wishes to contribute more to the Armer Foundation’s cause.

This fundraiser comes at an exciting time for the Colts, who are building momentum for a deep postseason run in the 6A conference.  Their success on the field is a reflection of their unselfish play and strong team chemistry, qualities that Coach Denny has emphasized since taking the helm. “We play for each other, and that mindset extends to how we show up for our community,” Denny noted in a recent interview. 

Fans will have the chance to meet some of the team’s players at the car wash.  The event will also feature team spirit, and opportunities to learn more about the Armer Foundation’s work.  It’s a great opportunity for fans, families, and local supporters to come together, support a worthy cause, and cheer on the Colts as they continue their season.
